Jax is definitley all boy. I guess I should say he is totally opposite than his sister. Jax likes to be known that he has entered the building. We talk at high volumes and destroy anything in our path.
We describe our Jax as this...
I can see this happening with J'Lee. It's funny to watch them. But you see how that sour patch thing is wrapped around her leg, he does the exact same thing when he does something bad or if he gets in trouble with us. He goes straight to her and she consoles him.
Apperently he only acts loud and destructive when we are around. The grandparents always say he does really well. Two things are happening here: 1.THEY ARE LYING SACKS of, just kidding, i would never talk to my mom or Jamie's mom that way. They are just very forgiving of his ways or 2: They spoil the snot out of him and he has no clue what to do but just stand in awe.
We don't say many words. I got really nervous when we went on our 15-18 month check-up a few weeks ago and the doctor asked if he new 4-5 words. 'Um, yeah, I'm not real sure" I told him. I went through the list and he knows 6. Phew! J'Lee was singing songs by this time and saying a few of her ABC's. I asked the doctor if we should be worried and he laughed at me. He said some boy's learn early about the saying "if I do little, they expect little." Ha! Doctors way of making me feel like a better mom. I don't give my son enough credit, he completely communicates everything he needs and wants. He signs a lot of words too. His favorite thing to do is point followed by some loud jibberish followed by a JAAYYYLLEEEE. His favorite word! Right now he loves singing to himself. It's quite sweet, because he actually lowers the volume a bit and sways back and forth. Melts my heart every time!
Jax is very independent. He could care less what is going on around him as long as he has something to do on his own. He plays by himself all the time. Of course he would rather have his sidekick close to him. He loves to feed himself, which makes the mornings slow sometimes.
He is SO independent, he refuses to have me rock him before bed. He just wants me to walk him into his room, give him a kiss and put him in his bed. As quick as you can say "SUPERCALAFR...yep, can't even finish the word, he is fast asleep. He has been doing this for a very long time. I feel blessed, because I have to spend the rest of the night trying to put his sister to bed, but I do love cuddling with this sweet boy!
Here we are at our check-up. Of course we had to get shots :( I think he weighed 24 pounds, I can't remember. He was in the 50th percentile in both height and weight and said he was looking good!!! Jax has had some awful eczema and we discussed our concern. The doctor suggested giving us his own concoction of medicine and using that for the week and if it didn't get better, we should see a dermatologist in Lubbock. Who wants to do that!? NOT ME! After using the medicine and praying every night for it to go away, his skin looks amazing and feels amazing too!! We have even used it on J'Lee and her skin looks great as well. It's expensive stuff, but I don't mind paying the money if it works!!!
Jax cried after getting his shots but when he saw that sucker, he stopped instantly!!
Here he is. Our 16 month old! Now in the biggest decision of our lives, to cut or not to cut. Who would have thought that something as simple as trimming a few locks would be so sentimental to a mother? I can't bring myself to do it just yet. I mean, the kid is between a rat tail and a mullet. Gross! What to do, what to do!? Did you have a hard time cutting your baby's hair?
Happy 16 months Jax! We love you!
