J'Lee turns 5!

Today our oldest and only girl turns 5!  I am almost speechless at this moment because it does seem like yesterday Jamie and I were praying for God to bless our lives with a baby.  When we married, we knew that we wanted to start a family as soon as we could.  Jamie wanted all boys and I wanted a girl but knew I was having a boy.  I always forget that we didn't know what we were having up until J'Lee was born.  This girl is so special to us.  She has had to grow up so fast and I sometimes feel sad because we are to blame for this.  She didn't stay our baby long. We wanted her to have brothers and sisters that she could play with.  We fail her as parents in so many ways but am thankful that her love is so unconditional.  We are thankful that we are covered my God's grace and He is able to show us how to be better parents.  She keeps us laughing and smiling everyday but sometimes she can be frustrating. I do see both Jamie and I in her.   J'Lee is our mother hen.  She keeps all of us in line and makes sure her brothers are taken care of.  From the beginning J'Lee has kept us on our toes.  She is always watching and listening! She is spunky and quite brilliant.  But what I love about her most is her passion to love others.  No matter who or what comes into her life she is going to love it as if it's the last thing on earth.  I pray that she continues to be just that.  I pray that this year she continues to exude love, compassion, and is fearless.  I have no doubt that God's plan for her is out of this world.  This video makes me laugh and cry.  It truly captures who J'Lee is and what she has become so far.  I hope that you enjoy it and I pray for all those mothers out there new or old that you cherish the smallest moments with your babies, that you stop and take in God's masterpieces, because they don't stay little forever.
