This is me! I talk a big talk. I blog and act as if I will post again soon and well, I leave you empty handed. Our Internet has been down at the house and the month of June flew by. It's all a blur really. My second child's life has been a blur. I guess this is what happens when you have two kids close in age. I wonder what 3 will be like.
We started June hanging out with our favorite group of people...our basketball crew. Every summer we work basketball camp and enjoy every bit of it. In fact this was my 10th basketball camp to work. Our babies get to participate or well hang out. This is J'Lee's third camp and this year she did pretty good. She lasted about 2 to 3 hours and after that she bossed everybody around. Before camp, J'Lee could not do much with the basketball but after the week was over, she was a pro. I was impressed.
By the end of camp, she was doing real figure 8's, dribbling and running, crossing over and Coach Briggs taught her how to do the behind the back. Yes, she will be playing for Coach Briggs when she is in college!
J'Lee also had her first sleep over with someone other than grandparents. This is Kim! She is pretty special in the Salinas Family. She is one of the people who watched J'Lee while we coached. J'Lee adores her and when Kim suggested she stay the night with her, J'Lee did not hesitate. I thought they would call us around midnight, but J'Lee was a big girl the entire time. They had so much fun together.
We also had our first case of hand, foot and mouth disease. Apparently, Abilene has had it's biggest cases this year. So bad that several daycare's had to shut down for a few days to disinfect. This stuff is not fun. Here is what my little baby went through...
It took about a week to get rid off but it has left some light scarring. It really hurt him and he just wasn't himself during this episode. We are glad he is doing much better.
