Rough'n it

This summer my dad's side of the family decided to do a camping trip. Every other month, they get together to celebrate my grandparents. My grandparents have both passed and since then, it has been hard to get everyone together at once. So they decided to do different events to get the family back together. It was my aunt's turn to decide and she decided to go to the lake. Well, at this time of the year it is very hot. But with lots of drinking water and swimming water, there is plenty to cool off with.

We were definitely rough'n it on this camping trip. There was no RV sleeping, just tents! But, when you go with my parents, there is no rough'n it if they can help it. So my dad rigged an air conditioner into the tent. It really kept us cool during the night but during the day it was hot. The first night out there, everything imaginable could have gone wrong for Jamie and I. We borrowed a tent and it had missing pieces, so we stayed in mom and dad's tent. It was a big tent. Then, J'Lee had a hard time sleeping because of my dad and his quest to make the air conditioner work. As soon as she would come close to falling asleep, he would make some noise that would wake her up. Not funny then, but hilarious now! We each had air up mattresses an and the pump wasn't working right so it took forever to get those up. Jamie is not in any of these pictures because he was fishing. Oh yeah, did i mention it was 2 AM when all of this was going on.

We spent the next day eating, swimming and just having fun. I have lot's of cousins and 2nd cousins which means there are lots of babies. Here are a few. They had so much fun! Check out the picture on the right, the one with the little boy and lots of dirt in his ear. That's how much fun they were having. The grown-ups had fun eating and playing horse shoes.

Remember when i mentioned that everything seemed to go wrong on this camping trip, well after a long day of swimming and eating hot dogs....later that night we had to rush J'Lee to the emergency room. She was doing a horrible breathing thing that is hard for me to explain and was crying uncontrollably. This had happened before but after taking some malox she got better. They ran chest x-rays, did a urine test, and took some blood. Let's just say, I am blessed to have such a trooper. J'Lee did great. When taking her temperature, they asked if she could place this under her tongue and if not, then they would have to do a rectal tempature. My heart dropped b/c i just knew she wouldn't want to put the thermomater under her tongue. Well, she did it. Temperature was at a 103! Next came the urine test. She peed on demand. Picture time, she was a little hesitant but I said can you smile like you do for mommy and say super cheese...she said it. Then came the worst...blood and needles. The guy that drew her blood was awesome but you could tell he was hestitant and that he knew she would get upset. We layed her down and she threw a fit. As she was crying we asked her to watch him and it calmed her down. Her final words to him were, "thank you super man". It is awful to see your baby in so much pain and there is nothing you can do for her. After all that and her falling asleep, they found nothing!

The doctors may have not found anything, we may have discovered what has caused these episodes. We think that J'Lee is allergic to weiners. Everytime this has happened, which is three times, she has eaten, a hot dog or corn dog. So we are keeping her off of those for a little bit. It causes her lots of pain.

Poor J'Lee, she's a trooper! Glad she was ok.
